Microsoft Access ™ Database Versions supported
AccessDiff supports Access 2000, 2002, 2003, 2007, and 2010, 2013, 2016. Access 97 databases are not supported. If you need to compare two Access 97 databases, convert them to Access 2000 or higher. When comparing Access databases you must have an Access version installed on your machine equal to or higher than the Access database you are trying to compare. For example, if you have Access 2003 installed on your system you cannot compare Access 2007 or higher databases.
Database preparation
Write Access - Although AccessDiff does not modify your databases, it needs to have write access to properly open tables and compare them.
Security Access - You must have design permissions on all objects in the databases that you are comparing. User names, passwords, and security group files are supported. Both databases must use the same security file when comparing. This limitation is imposed by Access.
Close the database- Do not have either of the target databases open when using AccessDiff.
Startup Forms - AccessDiff V2.0 and higher supports the automatic handling of startup forms and AutoExec macros. There is no need to disable the startup forms in the target databases.
Move the database to your local machine- AccessDiff will perform the comparison faster if the databases are on the local machine.
